WE ARE RE-RECORDING THIS WEBINAR! -Texas Public Policy Foundation with Marc Levin Getting Right on Crime: The Conservative Case for Criminal Justice Mr. Levin will will discuss conservative policy solutions for reducing crime, empowering and restoring victims, controlling costs to taxpayers, and confining criminal law to its traditional scope. He will highlight how principles of limited government can be successfully applied to criminal justice, helping to reverse the growth in the size and cost of the corrections system over the last few decades that has paralleled the overall growth in government.
HERE IS THE RECORDING FOR THIS WEBINAR – Kirk MacKenzie, Defend Rural America – The nation’s rural communities are under attack from every direction: agency abuses and threats; regulatory excesses; private property and water grabs; soaring costs, fees, penalties, and taxes; ceaseless lawsuits; predatory animal reintroductions; and more. Few are aware this war is going on, so complete is the media blackout. Worse yet, the public increasingly votes adverse to rural interests, largely as the result of grossly false mis-information promoted by media and the educational system. This affects all our problems in this country – join this effort to make a difference.
Their fight is our fight. Urban and Suburban America will be affected by the outcome of this silent and largely unknown war. Register HERE

County Executive Greg Edwards says he’s been working with Governor Cuomo’s office the past few months on the program, which he hopes will answer local government leaders’ questions about what they can do, and how they can do it. Edwards says the forum will be held at Jamestown Community College’s Carnahan Theater on May 8th (Now rescheduled for May 15th). He says Cuomo’s Deputy Secretary for Local Government will help facilitate the session… and will be joined by the state Department of State’s Municipal Management Consultant. Edwards says he’s received positive feedback from local municipal leaders on holding a forum…

County Executive Edwards announces date for municipal consolidation forum
The OBSERVER – After months of working with representatives from Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office, Chautauqua County Executive Gregory J. Edwards has announced that a forum on municipal consolidation will be held on May 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Carnahan Theater at Jamestown Community College. During the 2012 New York State Association of Counties Legislative Conference in February, Edwards and other county officials across New York State were urged by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to help make the state a better place by becoming actively engaged in working to consolidate municipal operations within their counties.
Acting on this initiative, Edwards decided to explore the possibility of municipal consolidation in Chautauqua County by holding a forum for local elected officials. The forum will be a question and answer session for mayors and town supervisors, who have been encouraged to bring one member of their municipality’s leadership with them to the meeting. “I wanted to have our elected leaders hear directly from Governor Cuomo’s team on precisely what the Governor is willing to support in efforts to consolidate, merge, or share services between our municipalities in Chautauqua County,” Edwards said.
Edwards has also invited members of the Chautauqua County Legislature to attend the meeting as observers of the conversation. After elected leaders begin the analysis by meeting with Governor Cuomo’s representatives, Edwards said he hopes to have another forum open to County residents and taxpayers.

As you know, New York State is faced with many energy related issues that are crippling our economy. Our state has the third highest electricity costs due to an unconstitutional cap and trade scheme, the highest gasoline tax in the nation, and now a moratorium on hydrofracking. Albany’s policies have not only increased costs to struggling families and businesses, but are seriously hurting our energy supply.
Energy Citizens are working hard to educate folks and are inviting the public to their event:
Vote4Energy Rally Broome Tioga Sports Center 50 Schaffer Road; Richford, NY Sunday July 15, 2012,
Gates open at 3 p.m. [please note time correction – our earlier invitation said 6 p.m.] Rally concludes at 9:30 p.m.
The event will include:
- Free Food
- Beer Garden and wine tasting of New York State Wines
- Tractor Parade
- Children’s entertainment
- Live Music
- Nascar Driver Blake Koch.
Join your fellow Energy Citizens for an evening full of free food, live entertainment, and a chance to win awesome prizes! Pre-register online and you’ll be eligible to win 4 NASCAR pit passes to the Zippo 200 Nationwide Series Race on August 11, 2012 at the Watkins Glen International Speedway.
